Contact Sheet

This program makes a contact sheet from a folder of photographs, in the manner of the sheets photographers used to print from a roll of film. Each photograph becomes a small numbered thumbnail with its filename and date, laid out to fill A4 paper. The sheet can then be printed or saved as a PDF.

The photographs are shrunk inside your browser and never leave your computer.

Instructions

1. Choose a folder of photographs, or choose individual files.

3. Print the sheet: Print to PDF
   Or press Ctrl+P (Cmd+P on a Mac) and choose “Save as PDF” as the destination.

Status: No folder chosen.

Notes

• Numbering. Each thumbnail is numbered, so a particular photograph can be referred to afterwards. Files are sorted by filename, with numbers in their natural order: IMG_2 comes before IMG_10.
• Dates. The date under each filename is the date the photograph was taken, read from the information stored in the file by the camera. Where a file has no such information, the date it was last modified is shown in italics instead.
• Privacy. Nothing is uploaded. When you close the page, the thumbnails are gone.
• HEIC files (from some phones) may need converting to JPEG first.
